If you’re planning a holiday in Australia, no doubt you’ve already started thinking about all of the wonderful places you’d like to visit, the famous landmarks you’d like to see and the countless different experiences and activities that Oz has to offer. Excited? You should be.
Here’s something to bear in mind, however: Australia is vast. How vast? Let me give you an example. Let’s suppose that you want to begin your holiday by diving the world-famous Great Barrier Reef, followed by a visit to the iconic Uluru (a.k.a. Ayers Rock). Both are truly unmissable Australian experiences, but there’s a distance of around eighteen-hundred miles between them. That’s roughly twice the length of mainland Great Britain, yikes!
Don’t panic! There are many ways of covering Australia’s wide open spaces, getting to the places you’d like to go and having a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. You could, for example, book a package holiday that features a pre-planned itinerary. It’s also possible to take internal flights or long-distance buses to get you from one region of Oz to the next. Or you could simply confine your holiday to exploring a single, small area of the country.
None of these options, however, gives you the true freedom to discover Australia’s magnificence in your own way and at your own pace. There is a better way.
In my own opinion and experience, there’s no better way to explore and enjoy Australia than in a comfortable and modern campervan. The benefits speak for themselves; there’s no need to pre-book accommodation, no restrictive transport timetables to fret over and you can create your own preferred itinerary or simply make it up as you go along. And believe me, Australia offers plenty of tempting diversions, so wherever your campervan holiday adventure takes you I can guarantee you’ll never be bored.
Whether you’re a couple, family or solo traveller a campervan offers an affordable, fun and exciting Australian holiday and there is an abundance of superbly-equipped and often scenic camp sites throughout the country for those overnight stops.
Sounds fantastic, doesn’t it? It is, but here’s my advice to ensure you have the perfect Australia campervan holiday: choose your campervan hire company with care. Vehicle reliability, good insurance and an efficient breakdown and recovery service (just in case!) are all essential for a happy, worry-free holiday. It’s also a good idea to choose a company that has a number of rental offices around the country, giving you the freedom to pick up your campervan in one place and drop it off at another rather than having to make a round trip. You’ll also want a decent range of campervans to choose from, the best price – obviously – and preferably a hirer that’s been in the business long enough to have built a solid reputation for customer satisfaction.
That might seem a bit of a tall order, but there’s one rental operator that ticks all of the boxes: Camperman Australia.
A friendly, family-owned business they’ve been hiring modern, comfortable and fully-equipped (even including a shower and loo) campervans for more than two decades, and they know Australia inside out so you know you’re in good hands. Better still, Camperman Australia has eight offices along the east coast from Cairns down to Sydney so you can start at the top of the country and finish at the foot if you like. I’ve done the campervan trip from Cairns to Sydney and, trust me, it was the adventure of a lifetime so if you’ve three or four weeks to spare and want to see the best of Australia at your leisure I’d heartily recommend it. However far you’re thinking of exploring Oz, Camperman Australia gives you the peace of mind of a twenty-four hour helpline and roadside assistance, and comprehensive insurance cover, unlimited mileage and additional drivers are all included in a rental fee that genuinely offers unbeatable value for money.
Arranging your perfect Australia holiday shouldn’t be a military operation. Why fret over advance hotel bookings or struggle with public transport schedules when a campervan can give you unlimited freedom to explore without wiping out your holiday budget?
I loved every minute of my journey through Australia in a campervan, and I promise you will too. What are you waiting for?
