Jerry & Sir Richard

There’s something which perhaps you should know first and foremost about us before making contact. The ‘us’ is actually the team at Trails of Australia and not Jerry Bridge &  Sir Richard Branson! We are travel enthusiasts based in New Zealand, Australia and the UK who love everything about travel. Each enquiry is dealt with swiftly and professionally in a friendly manner we feel sure you will be comfortable with. Working closely with the best operators and hoteliers in Australia also means we have extremely competitive rates.

So, who are we then?

Katie Grealish – has travelled the world many times over and is passionate about Australia and all it has to offer. It does not matter if it’s your first visit or you’ve been many times, you’ll still need top advice when booking your holiday to Australia – it’s such a massive continent! Let Katie work with you to understand your holiday requirements before putting a detailed quote together.

Ben Kemp – known as the ‘SEO-MAN’ for all his knowledge about building and maintaining websites, Ben keeps ours up to date with fresh content. He is also an expert on all things ‘google’ – feel free to contact him directly if you have a particular question about the internet or even your own website!

Jerry Bridge – there is not much this man doesn’t know about Australia! Jerry’s first trip was back in 1982/3 when he drove 24,000 miles around Australia in an old Holden HR station wagon. Take a peak at his  classic Australia drive photos here for an insight into this journey. After returning to the UK, it took Jerry just three years to become assistant sales manager at Trailfinders Travel Centre in Earls Court road, London. Realising he had his fathers entrepreneurial ability, he set up a similar long haul travel company Bridge the World in 1989 with the help of Brian Barton & Bruce Rose, fellow Trailfinders. After selling the business in 2001 Jerry then established his second company Bridge & Wickers specialising in tailor-made holidays to Australia, New Zealand and Canada. Within four years of operation the company had won Tourism Australia’s top award within the UK – ‘Best Tour Operator Australia’.

Tourism Australia recognised Jerry’s commitment to Australia by giving him the much coveted ‘Outstanding Contribution to Australia’ UK travel industry award in 2004.

As Managing Director at Trails of Australia, you can check Jerry Bridge’s Linkedin CV profile page if you like or take a few moments to read a recent Q&A newspaper article, in Wellington’s ‘Dominion Post’ covering various aspects of my travel career. People call me ‘Travelman’ by the way, because of my extensive travel experiences as well as my involvement in the travel industry over the past 30 years. By the way, the name Bridge has a long history of travel behind it which started way back in 1949 with my father – Walter Bridge – and his European package holiday empire. If you get a moment, I strongly recommend watching the very unique Bridge Travel video which tells the wonderful pioneering story of how the UK travel industry was established just after the Second World War.
